Going for a Ride

Hi!
Today I have a card for the Little Darlings Challenge blog competition.
This one is called 'Going for a Ride'. Pretty cute don't you think?
The DP I used is from K& Company called Tablette Matelassee Decorative. The doily is from 'My favorite things and is called High tea. Lace from stash. Roses from WOC and leaves from my punches Leone Em brand.
I was a little ticked off as my Digital camera decided to die on me so I used Doug's.
Anyhoo it decided to put a wrong date on it so I thought okay!!!! I will redo them and make sure there is no date. Well to cut a long story short the camera decides to have flat batteries...hence the date on them. I couldn't be bothered waiting for my batteries to charge up so here it is.

Before I show you I went to a copic class yesterday and had a great time learning how to use copic's. The lady that taught was very pleasant and a very good teacher. Whether I get Copic's is another matter but will surely think about it in the future. I have just got myself some Promarkers so the lessons were very helpful for them as well. Her name is Jenny and she has now become a follower on my blog. How nice is that.
Thanks Jenny if you see this.

Tilda with Hawaiian Flower

Today my card has 'Tilda with Hawaiian flower' from the Butterfly Dreams Collection.
The DP is from Pink Paislee Butterfly Garden Collection. I just love that paper. The strip down the middle is from 'My Minds Eye Home.
The doily behind the Spellbinder scalloped circle nestie is from My Favorite things and is called High Tea party.
I also used a DooHickey vintage tag. The flowers are from WOC with some fernery thrown in.
I have been enjoying using my Prismacolor Premier pencils lately and have colored Tilda with them. The sky I did with Tim Holtz Faded Jeans Distress ink.
I meant to mention that I got the tutorial for the clouds from Cabio's blog here  Thanks Cabio. I really enjoyed making these clouds

Magnolia-licious extravaganza Competition

At last another post. This is my entry for the Magnolia-licious Extravaganza Competition
There is still time to enter. Diana is offering fabulous prizes. This one is for the category #1 Full size Magnolia image. I used Tilda with bunny. I think she is so cute. I colored her with Prismacolor pencils and Gamsol. The corner dies are from Nellie Snellen called Nellie's multi frames. I stitched around the DP that is one from a friend so have no idea what it is called. The flowers are from W.O.C.
Close up of Tilda.

Another close up.

I went to the hospital to find out what was going to be done next and I have now been referred to a Respiratory specialist. A little frustrating as I now have to wait for an appointment. Hopefully I won't have to wait too long. My Urologist has said that it is no longer his department. Oh well!! That's life huh!!

Anything but a card

Hi there friends!

Not such a good week for me. I had my results for my CT scan on my Abdomen and chest. It seems the Kidney cancer that I had 6 months ago when I had my kidney removed has spread to my left lung. It is called metastatic disease. At the moment it is only very small but still a tumour. I see my Urologist on the 12th of this months so I will know then what will be done. Hopefully it can be cut out. I was hoping for a better year but I have beaten it twice so hopefully and prayerfully  I will beat it again. I have too many projects to do.

This box that I have made is for the Magnolia-Licious  Easter/Spring  Extravaganza contest.  Check it out. There is still time to enter.Fantastic prizes to be won and supplied byDiana from the Magnolia Store

I don't think you would have seen this Tilda with lamb. I mixed up two images. I'm sorry but I forget what thisTilda is called. Yep! that's right! Tilda with Spring bundle  and of course the lamb is from the Tilda as shepherd stamp. I had fun with this one after about three attempts. The entries are so wonderful.

This picture is not the best. I need a good camera or I need to improve with my photography

Tilda with hearts colored with Prismacolor Premium Pencils

Okay...my card.
I have been trying out different papers to use with Prismacolor Premier Pencils and odorless white spirits e.g. Gamsol. A paper with tooth is need for these pencils as a smooth paper is no good for blending. The paper I used here is from a Derwent Visual Art Diary. As Derwent are an oil based pencil too I thought okay this paper must be good. It is 110 gram weight. It seems to be quite good. I think the problem is me and my blending so my coloring is not as good as I would like. Also when I stamped this image it wasn't stamped very good but I used it anyway and made a card with it.

I made the flower with a Bosskut design a flower die in the same DP as the background. Added a few grape leaves and maiden hair fern from Leone em punches.

The paper is from Basic Grey called marjolaine from Suzannes blog candy...thank you Suzanne. The brads are Christina Re Boutique collection pink diamond. I also used Spellbinders nestabilities to frame Tilda.

Tilda with balloon

Hello fellow crafters!

It's been a little while since I posted but at long last I have made another card.
I love how the gals put doilies on their cards. I didn't have a doily so have used a spellbinders frame instead. My Tilda is colored with distress inks. The little flower I made.
The first time I have tried doing this background technique. Taught by Angie Hunt on her distress ink classes.
This is the inside of the card. I made this one for my DH Doug. He loves Tilda and doesn't mind saying so. I am so blessed with the husband I have.

60th Birthday Card

Here I am again with a 60th birthday card for a man. I haven't put embellishments on it only a Vintage tag from Magnolia Stamps. This little guy is also a Magnolia stamp called Edwin. He is the cutest little fellow. They can both be brought at Diana's store. I used the Cuttlebug embossing folder called happy Birthday.
I colored this image with distress inks and over the next few months you should see a lot of improvement in my coloring as I am taking Angie Hunts Distress ink classes. You can find the information here.
These classes are fabulous. I have learned so much already. Things that you wouldn't think of doing.
This is just showing the tag tucked inside the scalloped circle. I had to print it on an angle to get it on the tag.
                                                      Here is the finished card

Herbert the Turtle

Hi there!
I have just finished this Easel box card for a friend that is giving me her old Lap Top. I got this idea from Norma's blog. Even filled up the drawer with yummy chocolates.
The stamp is a Digi from karen's Doodles and it is called Special Delivery. His name is Herbert. I think he is kind of cute don't you. My friend collects Turtles so when I saw Herbert I just had to get it. I have colored him with Distress Ink re-inkers. I just put the watercolor paper through my printer and was able to use the ink without any problems. The DP's I used are Stampin Up ones. I didn't have a knob for the drawer so used what I had. It is not a good color but I had to get it finished in a hurry as we were going to their place for dinner tonight. Next time I make one of these Easel cards I will make sure I have the knobs available. I was disappointed with my little bunch of flowers on there and wished I had of done something different. Never mind. Next one will be better.
