Explosion box and not such good news

Hi all,

Just to let you know what's happening in my corner of the world. Some of you would know that my hubby Doug has gone through cancer recently having a year of chemo, once every week and five weeks of radiation everyday. His last scan has shown that he nows has Liver metastisis which means it's a cancer that spreads to other organs. He will be having an operation to remove half his liver on the 1st of next month. It's very serious and a very dangerous operation because of where the cancer is. If he gets through this operation it will mean that he has an excellent chance of  a longer life. It has been a rather hectic week with Hospital appointments etc. Soon I will need to have a break while I look after Doug but hopefully I will still be able to get some projects done.
This is my explosion box. I think I am just in time with it. I really enjoyed making it.
I hope you like it. I don't normally use pre-made flowers choosing to make my own. These are ones I have made myself. I have colored all my Tilda's with distress inks keeping the outside of the box very plain.

My Sketch card

At last I have decided to do a sketch card and enter into the http://magnolia-licioushighlites.blogspot.com/
Thanks Becca for the great Sketch. Becca also put a tutorial on her blog on how to do a tight frame with the spellbinder frames. I have used the idea on this card.
I have colored Tilda with distress inks.
The hair: Walnut stain and black soot
Face: Tattered rose
Dress: Forest Moss. star: Mustard seed.
I also used star dust stickles on her wings, star and the edges of her dress. Also at her feet.
I don't know the DP as it was a gift a long time ago.
I used spellbinders frame and Martha Stewart Gothic border punch on the triangle shapes.

Bereavement card

I have made this card for a friend who lost her Mother last Tuesday. She is Dutch and I thought this Magnolia stamp of two flowers was so right. I wanted to make the card very simple.
I have coloured it with distress inks. Dusty concord for the flowers and Bundled sage for the leaves. I used Pumice stone to put shading around it. I used Spellbinders oval frames and a scalloped frame. I also used a spellbinders tag for the sentiment. The two side panels are from an embossing folder. Sorry I can't remember the name of it.
The Magnolia Stamp is called Two Tulips and it's from the Hoppy Easter collection. You can get it here
